Mayor Losardo delivered poignant remarks earlier today at the Juneteenth celebration from Scotch Plains’ own national treasure and a fixture of the civil rights movement, Shady Rest. This administration fittingly returned Shady Rest to its original name in 2021 to celebrate the facility’s 100th anniversary. Today, the Mayor highlighted the profound meaning of Juneteenth and how its recognition as a federal holiday serves to make our nation a better version of itself.
The Scotch Plains Democratic Committee was proud to support the Scotch Plains Fanwood Baseball Club at their annual golf outing fundraiser. Our record of supporting our community’s youth is undeniable, and we will continue to make our kids a priority!
